Medical Casting Mainframe

Situation:

We produced a machined casting that was painted and delivered directly to the assembly line.

Option:

Customer required cost reduction and better lead times to meet the demanding changes in the medical market place.

Resolution:

A special rotary indexing fixture was designed and built that allowed the machining of 6 castings per cycle.

Effect:

The parts were more consistent in quality, rejections reduced to zero and delivery times reduced to two weeks. And because the parts were serialized on the milling machine the customer saved over 20%.
